First Time in Seattle?

This was my first time visiting Seattle. I was pleasantly surprised. The city is truly beautiful and very clean compared to San Francisco, New York and Chicago. We stayed two nights in the beautiful city Seattle and got to visit the top rated tourist attractions which are Pike Public Market, Giant Wheel and Space Needle.

PIKE PUBLIC MARKET

Pike market is the most magical place in the whole world. I haven’t seen anything like it before. This beautiful place is over 100 years old and still carries its vintage atmosphere. It’s like visiting another little world that doesn’t live in time. It’s crowded with tons of people which are most tourists, packed with the most delicious goodies and the freshest flowers.

FLOWERS

If you are visiting Pike Market, you must buy flowers. The freshest flower arrangements are priced for only $10 dollars. You can find some bouquets smaller ones for $5 and bigger ones for $20. The flower stems are wrapped in a plastic bag that is filled with water. That way happy tourists can enjoy fresh flowers for a longer time.

PIROSHKY PIROSHKY

This tiny little bakery is a must to visit. I ate a lot of piroshky in my life but nothing like it before. They are so fresh and high quality. Lots of times homemade piroshky taste better than in most bakeries, but this is not the case. Piroshky Piroshky make their piroshky for over 30 years and they truly are amazing. My favorite one was sweet with chocolate filling.

BERRIES

You probably know that Washington is known for their berries. Pike Market offers the most unique barriers. Red currant is my favorite berry.

GUM WALL

1428 Post Alley, Seattle, WA 98101

The gum wall is right behind the Pike Market so you might want to take a few pictures by it if you are already visiting the Pike Market. Head down a ramp where you see “Public Market” clock sign and at the bottom of the ramp you will see Post Alley and the Gum Wall. It very interesting scene.

GIANT WHEEL

I always thought that the Seattle Giant Wheel was huge until I heard of Las Vegas Ferris Wheel which is 3 times taller. The Seattle Giant Wheel is 174′ and Las Vegas is 550′ tall. Insane!

If you get a chance to go see the sunset on the Giant Wheel it will be the most magical sensation. Imagine beautiful Seattle in gold colors on one side and breathtaking water with mountains on the other. Just a dream.

The ride is about 15 minutes long so its just enough time to relax and enjoy the views.

SPACE NEEDLE

The Space Needle is incredible. It’s a museum, a beautiful place to enjoy a drink and a snack and the views are stunning.

It took us about 45 minutes to get inside the elevator to go up the Space Needle. Honestly the waiting part was hard. Once you are inside the elevator the fun part begins. In just 43 seconds and you are  605′ from the ground with a 360 view on Seattle. You will probably like a snack so there are few cafes that offer light snacks and drinks.
