-
Melt the chocolate chips. I like to melt my chocolate in the microwave using the 30 seconds increments, stopping and mixing in between each cycle.
-
Add butter and mix so the chocolate and butter are blended. Set it aside.
-
To a different bowl add eggs, brown sugar, granulated sugar and a pinch of salt. Mix until lighter in color.
-
Pour the egg batter to the chocolate. Make sure the chocolate ganache is not too hot. At room temperature or slightly warm is perfect. Mix until blended.
-
Through a fine strainer add flour and baking powder. With a spatula, mix just until the flour is mixed in.
-
Line the baking tray with parchment paper. Use a half size scoop to shape the cookies. There should be enough batter for about 10 cookies.
-
Bake at 350 Fahrenheit for about 16-18 minutes. The longer you bake, the crispier the cookie will get.
-
While the cookie is still hot, you can use the cookie cutter to give the cookies a more defined shape.

Why did mine turn out like flat cakes? Albeit yummy flat cakes
Might be because ingredients are not measured correctly. Too much liquid. Another big mistake is if the chocolate with melted butter is too hot. They should be warm, closer to room temperature, before adding other ingredients.
Love the recipe, tried it 1st time and it came out beautiful aswell as the taste is awesome goes so well with a nice glass of creamy milk thanks for the recipe it’s a fav!!!
I am happy to hear that you are enjoying my recipe!
Can you use semi sweet chocolate?
Yes!
My cookies came out dry! The dough tasted amazing but the cookies were dry. I must have messed up somewhere along the way! Maybe the chocolate or I didn’t add enough butter to the chocolate.
To get the brownie, flaky texture, it is important not to over-mix the batter once the eggs are in. Hopefully next time you will master them brownie cookies to perfection.
Wonderful and easy! Level 1 or 2 for sure! Gooey and cakey!
Thank you! Your feedback is valued!

Thank you! Very appreciated feedback ❤️
How many calories per cookie?
I tried the recipe, halved it actually, and managed to screw it up. The cookis didn’t spread and were dry, hard to point out what went wrong 🥲.
I am sorry to hear that. Maybe try it again another time. These cookies are a hit! Once you master them, they will be your favorite treat.
Salted or unsalted butter?
I am using unsalted butter but salted butter will add flavor. Either one will work.
Lovely recipe! An absolute hit with my family and friends. Will make this for years to come 🤎
Yassss! Thank you for your valuable feedback!
All purpose or self rising flour? Or does it matter?
Self rising flour is a combination of baking powder and all purpose flour. When you see baking soda or baking powder in the recipe, that means self rising flour is not required. All purpose flour for this recipe.
